1959 Chevrolet |

Welcome Visitor! After I acquired my 1959 El Camino in May 2010 from a field in El Paso Texas, I began to search for information so that I could get it running again. After I got it running, I decided to restore it to original condition instead of going the "resto-rod" route that has been done to most of the running El Caminos. Note: if you see any information on these pages that you don't agree with, please contact me. I want to present the most accurate information possible about the 1959 El Camino. I'm willing to discuss the specifications and details with anyone who is as passionaate about these vchicles as I am. Some History

Chevrolet used Ditzler paints during
the production of late 1950s vehicles. On the El Camino, the paint code on the data plate was a three digit number followed by a single letter. "A" was used if the car was painted a single color. "B", "C", or "D" was used for two-tone paint.
Some of the popular colors were 989C - Roman Red and Suncrest White,
